Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC

Few would argue that Dell paved the way to affordable, big, widescreen monitors. Dell original 24in 2405FPW really set the cat amongst the pigeons back in 2005, offering 1920 x 1200 resolution at affordable prices. Not long after that, Dell released 30in monitor to compete with Apple in 30in Cinema Screen. “Not only in the 30in Dell offers far cheaper than Apple, but it also offers additional functions, which makes it the choice of many professionals and consumers to be ( or just wanted) 2560 x 1600 resolution.

Things have moved on a lot since then, although 30in monitor market is far livelier. Apple has not only competition in this sector, with Dell now forced to compete with such excellent in the Samsung SyncMaster 305T, as well as HP LP3065 (full review which will be followed soon after that one). It therefore comes as no surprise that Dell has launched a new version of its 30in display, which represents the third generation product. But as the stack up to stiff competition?

Design wise, this new 30in Dell looks very much identical to its predecessors. There is a matte black bezel around the screen, but Sliver strips, which are contrary along the upper and lower kind of spoil the effect. However, it is not so unpleasant as brushed silver bezel on 27in Dell 2707WFP, though Benny seemed like that for some reason. In addition to the large Dell logo below the screen is clean. At bottom right is the power button and brightness control - these are the only adjustment that would monitor all other changes must be made through the graphics card driver.
