At first glance, it seems somewhat Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 on anachronism. The camera market dominated by increasingly smaller and more complex, ultra-compacts, TZ5 is fairly big and heavy, measuring 103.3 x 59.3 x 36.5mm and weighing 240g including a large battery and memory card, nearly twice the weight and thickness of the Typical ultra-compact. However, the weight and bulk translates into building a sound quality and excellent service, both useful features in a camera advertised as the perfect travel accessories. The body is of stainless steel and aluminum, and has a comfortable grip with textured plastic pad on the front and a large safe thumbgrip on the back.
